Conference to focus on leadership skills

Inspiring Leaders marks the first edition of what promises to be a long lasting, remarkable conference for influential leaders to get together with the Romanian community to discuss leadership and the effective way to lead. The event takes place on September 30 in Iasi, Romania, and brings to attention insightful topics such as self-leadership and the foundation for effectively leading others. It will ask what it takes to be a good leader, applying psychology facts to great leadership, employer branding and much more.

Award winning career coach, author and leadership trainer Jenny Garrett, pictured above,  will be on her way to Iasi to share her thoughts on leadership through her ‘I was born to lead – Act like a leader’ speech. Jenny was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours 2021 for services to Entrepreneurship and Women in Business. She is a Freeman of the company of Entrepreneurs in City of London and was listed in Brummell Magazines Top 30 City Innovators 2016. Jenny was awarded the highest honorary award from the Institute of leadership and management ‘Companion’ for advancing the practice of leadership and management for public benefit. In 2006 Jenny founded her business, and now alongside her team works with individuals and organisations supporting them to achieve career and life changing results. Using their unique combination of skills around gender, balance, leadership and self-improvement to inspire and empower.

Jenny’s real passion lies in designing and delivering leadership programmes to support the staff from ethnically diverse groups in organisations. Providing talks on Inclusive Leadership, Race and Allyship, and the creation of the first-ever diverse executive coach directory and shining a light on coaches from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic heritage working at the most senior level in the UK are among her proud achievements. Jenny’s latest book is Equality V Equity tackling issues of race in the workplace. Jenny has reached an audience of over 30,000 through her speaking engagements and is listed as a speaker on the International Womens Day website. She is a regular commentator on Sky News and LBC radio, and has been featured on BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, BBC Radio London & The Telegraph amongst many others.

The event aims to create a safe space for collaboration and shared experiences in the field of leadership and personal development. During the conference, attendees can interact with speakers and industry experts, as well as other community members and can debate ideas and build relationships that contribute to the development of the community. The Inspiring Leaders conference is hosted by Revup, an organization founded in 2022, an idea that four creative, resourceful, and bright friends and colleagues came up with. Working together in a software development company for more than 10 years, they realized the community in Iasi needs a leadership hub. More specifically, a place where they can learn, share, and interact with the best leaders while growing together and leading with tenacity.

The conference on September 30 will take place in the Henri Coandă hall of the Palace of Culture – an emblem of the city – and around 150 participants are expected for the first edition. The tickets can be purchased via the Revup website https://www.revup.net
