How much is this man worth? It’s the question we’re all asking

Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos is the entrepreneur that people are most interested in when it comes to the bank balances of the business A-list. How do we know?

An astonishing 971,000 average global monthly online searches were made for “Jeff Bezos net worth”.

Behind him was Tesla maverick Elon Musk who receives an average 779,000 worldwide online searches per month from people with the same query.

Others attracting interest were Facebook chief Mark Zuckberg, ultimate fighting championship (UFC) president Dana White and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

To reach that conclusion, MoneyTransfers.com inserted the search term “net worth” into the database of online analytics tool, Ahrefs, to establish which individuals people were most interested in. Once the results were known, names considered to be entrepreneurs were separated for form a top ten.

One disclaimer: they did point out that all online search volumes in their research represented global monthly online searches and all online search volume figures in the research were averages.

They also accounted for people searching for the same thing in different ways i.e. “Elon Musk net worth” and “Musk net worth”.

Completing the top ten were Reliance Industries’ boss Mukesh Ambani, Alphabet Inc CEO Sundar Pichai and US entrepreneur and TV personality Mark Cuban

Researchers suggested that characteristics such as risk-taking and innovative thinking were among the qualities that have propelled certain entrepreneurs to the forefront of public thinking.

As for how much Bezos is worth. They do point out that the sum was estimated, having been “gathered from various reputable online sources”. But at an “estimated” $185.8 billion, who’s counting?
