How do you use social media? Does it help you engage with your client base?
Social media is integral to our own promotional activity and that of our clients. Our Twitter account—@BridgerHowes—has around 2,500 followers, while I have a personal account with almost double that. We have nearly 20,000 followers across the Twitter accounts we manage and, as they are largely in the same sector and representative of non-competing client audiences, we offer our customers tremendous outreach. We are passionate about collaborating on social media and sharing information. Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook (in that order), promote our work and enable us to network with SMEs in addition to existing and prospective clients.
What new technology/apps are you considering using?
We look at everything that comes out. We will consider using Periscope next time we do a live event, while we’ve increased the time we spend on Hootsuite as our social media management contracts have grown. We also use apps like Layout for picture collages.
What technology/apps have you been most impressed with over the past 12 months?
Hootsuite, Layout and Apple, which manufacturers all of our smart technology and laptops.
What is your vision for the future? Are you looking to expand?
We will have a portfolio of non-competing businesses in many sectors, all accepting the challenge to become thought leaders. We are happy to expand but only if we can offer a world-class, consultative service.
