New prime minister Andy Burnham has appointed a new small business minister.
In the latest announcements for his junior ministers, Blair McDougall, small business minister under Keir Starmer, has moved to a new role jointly in the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (DBSIT) and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
It has not yet been confirmed who the new small business minister is but Burnham has made four other appointments to DBSIT.
Kate Dearden is minister for the future of work and Chris McDonald is minister for industry.
The remaining appointments with their responsibilities not yet confirmed are Anas Sarwar, Baroness Lloyd of Effra and Lord Leong.
DBSIT is the name of the new expanded business department following the closure of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). It is led by Jonathan Reynolds.
