The government has appointed a new group to develop recommendations for reducing regulatory and administrative burdens on micro, small and medium-sized businesses.

The Small Business Regulatory Taskforce includes representatives from business, government, regulators and representative groups.

They will look at where rules can be streamlined or better designed to reflect smaller businesses, such as improved regulatory guidance, reducing duplication and complexity, and modernising how firms interact with regulators.

The government has set a target of reducing administrative burdens by 25% in its regulation action plan.
