Government calls on SME leaders to make a difference

The government is looking for small business owners and directors to join the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Small Business Panel to help create positive change for other SMEs.

The Small Business Panel exists to advise government on how to help SMEs win public sector contracts. The role on the board is unpaid, but offers a number of benefits, such as:

  • The chance to feed your ideas and opinions directly to government and Ministers
  • Networking and knowledge sharing with other small business leaders
  • The opportunity to directly create policies that will have a big impact on small businesses

And, with the government committing to spending 33% of its goods and services budget with SMEs by 2020, the advice and guidance of the Small Business Panel has never been more vital.

Small Business Policy Lead for CCS, Cass Chideock, said: “If you’ve had significant leadership experience in at least one small to medium‐sized business, and you have a good grasp of commercial issues, particularly with regards to selling to government, then we’d love to hear from you.”
