Andrew Jacobs, chief executive of Lok’nStore, said: “At each one of our stores, you’ll find a huge range of self storage units to choose from and a friendly team ready to help you out with storage tips and offer you a cuppa.

“Become one of our 7,000 customers and, like them, you can store your stuff in fully enclosed secure units. You can enter your storage units freely during business hours and control access with your own locks. For added peace of mind, all our sites have 24-hour security systems.”

To make storage straightforward, Lok’nStore customers get free use of trolleys and forklift trucks with qualified operators. Customers can also get extra services such as insurance and vehicle rental.

Mr Jacobs said: “But what really sets us apart is our people. They’re the secret behind the friendliest, most helpful storage you can choose. So why not find your nearest store and say hello?

“We opened our first self-storage centre in Horsham, Sussex in February 1995 and have grown consistently over the last 19 years, currently operating 24 self-storage centres and two serviced document stores in Southern England. We have been listed on the Alternative Investment market (AIM) since June 2000.”

Big Box Storage Centres, which has 15 outlets in then South east of England and East Anglia, said that secure self storage is the perfect option for new start-up businesses, expanding enterprises, local reps or franchisees in need of business space, but not wanting to take on the commitment of long-term leased premises.

With no lease or purchase to negotiate, no solicitors to pay, no rates or utility bills, no long term commitment – Big Box Storage Centres said that, typically, these hidden costs can double the rental price of a traditional lease.

A spokesman for Big Box Self Storage said: “You rent the storage room by way of a simple single-page rental agreement, and pay every four weeks. You need to give only seven days’ notice to vacate.

“With storage space available from 10sq ft to 500sq ft or much larger, you will not find a more flexible means to provide for the needs of your business space. Best of all, you can add or change rooms at any time, as your need grows or shrinks.

“Security is provided by CCTV, alarm systems, your own lock on your Storage Room and full-time on site management. Commercial storage, together with free use of pallet trucks and flat bed trolleys, are available at all centres.
