What have been your biggest challenges? How did you overcome them?
The start was the most difficult, the early years can sometimes feel like a struggle with little reward. Thankfully that the business is flourishing and I can look back on those days and realise the experience taught me so much.
What have been your greatest successes?
One of our biggest successes is that we do not compromising in the quality of the user experience we seek to create and most of our revenue comes from repeat business.
In addition to this, we always try to sync with how our customer’s works, rather than forcing them to drastically change their processes or internal systems. While it might sound obvious and easy to achieve, doing so means you have to have outstanding and flexible separate external and internal processes this helps to ensure quality and consistency is maintained.
What are your top tips for SMEs?
At the early stage of a business all efforts need to be focused on sales and also monitoring and scrutinising your cash flow in detail. The reason for this singular focus is that you need to find ways to do more with less to make.
Secondly, once you move past this stage, to grow your business, finding and nurturing talented people adds enormous value and actually makes running a company much easier.
Finally, if you’re a service business you have to make sure that customers come first and that every decision you make has a customer-first perspective. Once this is achieved this means your company will gain referrals and also repeat business.
