My Social Agency is a digital marketing services provider based in Leeds. They provide social media, content marketing, web development and search engine marketing services to a wide variety of businesses. SME caught up with MD Mark Mitchell to hear about their story so far…
How did My Social Agency come about?
As a small team of 11, My Social Agency has the privilege of being far from factory-like in its approach to digital marketing. We offer a more personal service, so this makes us an integral bolt-on to a client's team in the most human way - and we relish the consistent results we achieve as a result.
This has brought us the pleasure of working with internationally recognised names such as Samsung, Allianz and Hunters Estate Agents. We even score above industry average for client retention and satisfaction, as well as year-on-year profit margins.
But this has all come from very humble beginnings. I started the company from scratch while on my travels in Thailand – with no startup loan or investment – so you could say I’m a self-made businessman. It’s given me an open-minded approach to the company’s structure and culture, which I think is essential if you want to be seen as a driver of change and growth in the rollercoaster dynamics of the digital marketing industry. We recently optimised a client’s site to achieve £1.5million - so we must be doing something right.
What services do you provide?
At My Social Agency, we offer clients core digital services that will boost their brand’s online presence, ultimately securing them exposure, traffic, leads and sales. The core services we offer to achieve this span web and app development, SEM (search engine marketing), digital PR, PPC (pay per click advertising), content and social marketing.
To many of our client’s senior management teams, this whole world is a bit of a minefield, but we can seamlessly fill in where their own teams lack in digital resources and walk them through the processes behind the digital marketing strategies that we create and implement for them.
Could you tell me a bit about your clients?
The clients we have are from a range of different industries. In terms of size, we work with both household names and SMEs, so the spread of people we get to work with is vast. But what’s clear is that the digital services we offer are required by most types of businesses, as maintaining a competitive edge online requires a well-planned, multi-channel approach executed by people that know what they’re doing. This is integral to achieving an engaged customer base with which you can continue to build a relationship.
In terms of individual people that need our services, I’d say these are more the aspiring community influencers who want to position themselves as experts in their field and gain a secure following. These are the types that require close online reputation management, similar to what a brand needs – so it’s important that social media, content marketing and digital PR come into play here.
