Little Green Radicals is an eco-friendly baby and children’s brand that has grown from small beginnings to its present-day global presence. SME caught up with founder Nick Pecorelli and head designer Josie Bragg to find out their top tips for small businesses…
• What are your top tips for SMEs?
Never believe that the solution is just to get more cash from outside. That only helps if your business has made the changes it needs to make.
Do it online and integrate everything. These days you can get a plugin for everything and you should!
Find good people and let them shape things.
Learn to deal with the stress so that it does not rule your life. Running a business is stressful because the fear of failure is in all of us and when you cannot pay people on time they will be angry because they have to pay someone at the other end. I go swimming in a cold water lido and that makes a big difference to my ability to cope with stress.
• How do you use social media? Does it help you engage with your client base?
We don't use it enough but right now our issue is our conversion rate as we get plenty of customers coming to us who don't quite get around to buying, so we are more focused on that equation.
• What is your vision for the future? Are you looking to expand?
We are expanding and we see ourselves as a global brand even if we only have a tiny footprint in lots of countries.
