LINKD is a dating app for single professionals. The app allows you to make a detailed profile and see how you and your matches compare on a variety of personality traits. SME caught up with CEO and founder Patric Okumi to find out more…
Tell me about your company – where did the idea come from? How did you get started?
As a single professional living in London, I recognised all too quickly that despite the plethora of dating apps on the marketplace there really wasn’t a clear go to intuitive app for professionals to meet. Let alone meet, chat, find a suitable date spot and book a cab to get there! With many of the ‘swipe to like’ apps stigmatized for being solely for ‘hook-ups’ my team and I decided to create a platform that would offer like-minded users looking for something with substance more than just a profile picture, name and age.
Could you tell me a bit about your product range?
Our product is the LINKD app and within this we offer 3 tiers of membership, which are Basic, Premium and VIP. Our Basic accounts allow new users to play around with the app to find out if it’s right for their needs and if so upgrade to premium. Unlike other platforms for professionals we don’t think it’s fair to limit the user’s ability to play around and find out if it’s right for them. There’s nothing more frustrating than having to pay to message someone as on some websites and Apps. We do of course encourage users to upgrade to Premium or VIP to enjoy our online and offline perks.
