LINKD is a dating app for single professionals. The app allows you to make a detailed profile and see how you and your matches compare on a variety of personality traits. SME caught up with CEO and founder Patric Okumi to find out about the day-to-day running of the business…
Tell me about your role – what does a typical day look like for you?
As CEO & Co-Founder of LINKD I ultimately have absolute oversight of the company. It is also my responsibility to ensure that we are working as an effective team in reaching our goal. This is an incredibly demanding role that has been made easier by having an exceptional CTO and CCO (Chief Creative Officer). It is also my responsibility to make sure everyone is happy. The workload can be very overwhelming so it’s important to make sure we’re all supporting each other.
With early start-ups there are often no typical days and LINKD is no exception. Of course we have plans and diaries however things are always very fluid, one minute you’re working on reviewing creatives or analytics and next working with the development team to deploy new server updates. Never a dull day for sure! It is also important to stress that there is no such culture as ‘that’s his or her job’ within LINKD. I’m fortunate to be working with incredibly flexible colleagues tirelessly working to make LINKD the best dating experience on the market.
We’re very grounded at LINKD. Rome wasn’t built in a day. We have some incredible plans for the future and of course would love to be in every major city but for now we need to make sure we listen to what Londoners want and deliver the best dating experience.
