Cloud Employee is an outsourced provider of mobile, web and software development that specialises in services for English-speaking markets. SME caught up with CEO and founder Nick Hargreaves to hear the story so far…

Tell me about your company – where did the idea come from? How did you get started?

Cloud Employee was founded in London and specialises in providing English-speaking IT professionals based in the Philippines as a dedicated extension of SME and start-ups’ development teams. Tapping into Manila's booming tech scene, Cloud Employee is an essential resource for start-ups and sole traders looking to scale up quickly, lowering the economic barriers to growth and helping them overcome the skills shortage in Britain.

I started Cloud Employee earlier this year, when my own London-based travel start-up StopSleepGo was unable to find a good developer at a fair price.

I knew that we needed to look outside of the UK and given the lackadaisical economic performance of the BRICs countries recently, I decided to look elsewhere to find good developers who could provide an excellent service. I settled on Manila in the Philippines and set up Cloud Employee to provide software and coding services to British and international businesses.

We have a range of web development services, ranging from Junior Developer to SEO expert.

Tell me about your clients – who purchases your products?

Clients range from early stage start-ups looking to scale fast to bigger companies, from all sectors, to whom we offer developers and IT consultants who work as a natural extension to the client’s team.
