ChargeApp is an app that allows users to locate charging stations to re-charge their mobile phones. It also provides features such as push notifications for retailer’s offers and battery alerts. SME spoke to co-founder Joe Giordana to find out more…
Tell me about your company
ChargeApp is part of Gruppio which is owned by myself, Joe Giordano and my business partner Aldo D’aponte. The idea came about when I needed to call someone to arrange a meeting and found there was nowhere to charge my phone. We decided to progress with the idea and employed an app developer called Golden Gekko. Together we developed the app and provided features including push notifications for retailer’s offers and for battery alerts.
How would you describe your business’ ideology?
I’d describe it as very much customer and end-user focused. We want to ensure that we provide the “fourth emergency service” for the 21st Century consumer. We rely heavily on our mobile devices for anything from directions to medication reminders, and therefore we all need a fully-charged mobile device.
Could you tell me a bit about your product/services range?
ChargeApp is an invaluable app for all personal electronic devices in the 21st century. We have the UK’s leading charge station network, with over 1000 public and retail locations. ChargeApp eliminates the burden of carrying a charger and the worry of losing power on the go. It alerts users when their smartphone or tablet battery life is running low, through customisable push notifications.
Users benefit from access to exclusive retail discounts and offers via the app’s push notification feature. New promotions are updated regularly and range from digital coupons, to limited availability offers.
