ChargeApp is an app that allows users to locate charging stations to re-charge their mobile phones. It also provides features such as push notifications for retailer’s offers and battery alerts. SME spoke to co-founder Joe Giordana to find out more…
Who are your biggest competitors?
We have no competitors because of our unique offering - there are companies who install charge points and boxes, but we are about driving users to these locations, whilst engaging retailers by increasing footfall. Our push notification function enables retailers to promote their offers and advertising on the app face.
Tell me about your clients
Our clients are two-fold – consumers (users) and retailers. Our consumer clients are users of the app who have identified the issue of smartphone battery life. Retail clients come on board with us as they recognise the benefits of our app for increasing footfall to their stores, as well as helping to enhance their marketing and communication strategies in order to acquire and retain loyal customers.
How many employees do you have?
We have five members of staff. Some of us are dedicated to developing relationships with retailers to expand our network whilst others are developing the app to provide the best possible user experience.
What attributes are necessary in your business?
Having an entrepreneurial spirit is essential as we are a start-up company. Being client focused is also important, not only to sell our product, but to provide our clients with high standards of service.
Tell me about your role – what does a typical day look like for you?
I’m the co-founder of ChargeApp. A typical day for me consists of meeting retailers, identifying new charge location hubs and promoting downloads. At the heart of the fourth emergency service is a desire to ensure that we provide as many charging locations as possible.
