Campus Society, the global university network, aims to help students break down barriers and collaborate. SME caught up with Rashid Ajami, CEO and Founder to hear the business’ tips for success…
What are your top tips for SMEs?
The key thing is to understand your vision and long term goals. Then work systematically towards them. There will always be problems and challenges but its how you adapt to these. The more problems you solve the closer you will get to your goal.
Another tip is to focus on what your doing and don’t try to be like another business. Although it’s tempting to compare I feel one should build their own story and not get distracted.
Finally is to stay focused on very specific targets and next steps. I learnt this the hard way. Don’t try to do too much but do a few things well.
How do you use social media? Does it help you engage with your client base?
We use Instagram and twitter to engage with students and share content from our site but we do not put a lot of energy towards this. I see it as a good way to show the best of Campus Society and to provide support to users.
What technology/apps have you been most impressed with over the past 12 months?
Quiqup for food delivery, Figure for music and Headspace (when I need a ten minute time out!)
What is your vision for the future? Are you looking to expand?
We are looking to be the go to global student community. Starting in the UK this year and expanding to the USA and beyond towards the end of the year.
