Silicon Dock - at the heart of Northern Ireland’s innovation ecosystem

The Generation Innovation Night of Ambition event for teenagers was launched by Programme Manager, Claire Burgoyne and County Antrim sixth year pupil, Rían Patterson.

Dr Normal Apsley, CEO of the Northern Ireland Science Park, talks about the Generation Innovation Night of Ambition event and its future plans…

Inspiring and engaging teenagers, Generation Innovation is a peer-driven movement of Northern Ireland’s most innovative, creative and entrepreneurial young people. Its mission is to make every young person aware of the attractive opportunities available in Northern Ireland's entrepreneurial knowledge economy, to inspire them, connect them to the networks of opportunities and give them the confidence to succeed.

Now in its second decade of operation, NISP has plans to extend its footprint in both Belfast and Derry. With an ambition for Northern Ireland to be one of the most entrepreneurial knowledge economies across Europe, collaboration at scale is its critical challenge.

The North West Regional Science Park at CoLab in Letterkenny represents the first step in the development of an All-Island Association of Science Parks. Both LYIT and NISP are looking forward to playing their parts in nurturing and developing the innovation and Science Park movement throughout Ireland and beyond.
