Building the BBRO community

Dr Mark Stevens, lead scientist at the British Beet Research Organisation, talks about BBRO’s open door policy…

We have excellent working relationships with our growers and the UK producers and it is something that we work hard to build on every year. We offer a number of ways in which growers can access our information and knowledge – through our annual winter conference which attract between 600 and 700 delegates to summer open days which are smaller, more regionally focused events.

We also publish regular forecasts and updates via the BBRO bulletins. In addition, by listening to growers and proactively engaging on the issues they are facing we continue to strengthen our already close knit community, which is something I personally feel is vital for the continued success of our organisation and UK sugar beet industry.
