Nigeria is set to become the 20th largest economy in the world by 2020, and many businesses are eyeing it up as a potential investment opportunity.
At a recent event held in London, over 50 UK high profile businesses and investors gathered under the Nigeria/UK Investment and Partnership forum to promote sustainable trade and investment for a green economy. The visiting Nigerian Delegation from both private and public sector showcased viable multi sector business opportunities and encouraged companies to provide sustainable technologies and framework for a green economy.
The event gave delegates the opportunity to explore investments in the environmental sector, renewable/waste management, financial & professional services and manufacturing sector which currently rated third in Africa. There was a review session on Nigeria Telecoms industry which is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. The need to engage with potential UK companies & Investors is now and this was shown by the display of the readiness to do business in Africa’s biggest Country.
The forum, which was put together by Synergy Systems Consults (UK) Limited in collaboration with UK Trade and Investment and its partners First Western Recycling, was attended by Invest UK Limited, Nigeria Britain Chambers of Commerce (UK) Network, Dulas Solar Limited, Oreed Group, Nigeria/UK Business Ventures Ltd, IREEMS, Codub Consulting who gave excellent presentations on their experiences in doing business in Nigeria and their engagements with companies who are keen on doing business in Nigeria.
