Expo aimed at SMEs looking to take the next step

Ceri Rogers, Event Director of the Northern Business Exhibition, explains why the expo is a must for any SME, start-up, entrepreneur or blogger looking to take the next – or the first – step in their business this year.

Ever had a light-bulb moment, that sudden burst of inspiration following a brilliant idea for a business but no clue how you would ever make it a reality? We started the Northern Business Exhibition as a way to support and advise start-ups, SMEs and even corporate businesses looking at how to grow previously unexplored areas. With so many industry leading experts on hand to provide business advice and insider knowledge we hope to help answer that all-important question – where do I start?

The Northern Business Exhibition is fortunate to have always attracted inspirational speakers who are at the forefront of their business and this year is no exception, with Dragons’ Den star Hillary Devey CBE and Social Chain’s CEO Steve Bartlett hosting 1-2-1s, seminars and workshops.

We run the Northern Business Exhibition in a way that truly supports and harnesses small businesses and we’re focused on providing quality advice, all completely free for visitors. At this year’s exhibition we’ll have over 80 seminars & workshops delivered by some of businesses’ finest speakers, including a session with Hillary Devey CBE on her journey to become a successful businesswoman, author Ben Kench speaking about how to make a success of your business in 2018, Rachel Elnaugh another Dragon’s Den star and co-creator of Source TV, marketer Michael Carlin CEO of Zymplify, Carl Reader the start-up coach, best-selling author Steve Hackney, Gary Townley from the Intellectual Property Office, CEO and founder of Global Social Media Marketing agency Social Chain Steve Bartlett to name a few.

With the incomparable rise of social media, we’re seeing a huge increase and shift towards digital businesses and those utilising the massive social media community. Many of this year’s seminars will be focusing on this, explaining how to launch social media accounts, how to monetise Instagram accounts, boost your followers and promote content to your target audience.

Visitors can also book in for free 1-2-1 advice and support on all elements of business from sales to marketing, branding to finance with 20-minute appointments with experts in their field.

This event, which will be in Manchester’s city centre on April 18 & 19, is all about helping businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs develop and grow, from great workshops and seminars to one-to-one support. We’re looking forward to another successful year helping new and developing business to reach their full potential.
