Provider shortlist for SME Awards 2016: Corporate Finance

This provider category for the upcoming SME Awards acknowledges those companies that have offered a standout service to the UK’s SMEs throughout the year.

The shortlisted companies in the corporate finance category include:

Lloyds – prides itself on its relationship teams that provide support, guidance and expertise throughout a business lifecycle. They are the biggest net lenders to SMEs through the Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS) with net growth of more than £1.6bn over the last year.

Santander – offers the Breakthrough programme, created with the idea that funding alone is not enough to ensure orderly growth. Provides small businesses with the tools to support their growth, such as advice and learning through shared experiences with other businesses.

TSB – provides funding for individual companies from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) to carry out R&D which has significant potential for their business – and the UK’s economic growth. There are three types of grant, focusing on commercial viability, technical feasibility and prototype development and ranging in value up to £25,000, £100,000 and £250,000.

Natwest – is a key ambassador for Entrepreneurial Spark, the world’s largest free business accelerator for early stage and growing ventures. Offers a start-up package for businesses trading for less than a year and have an annual turnover of less that £1m.

Barclays – offers small businesses support with everything from planning ahead to attracting new customers. Provides detailed guidance on funding options.

RBS – its start-up package provides details on setting up a new bank account for your business, and offers two years’ free banking to help get businesses off to a flying start. Is an ambassador for Entrepreneurial Spark, the world’s largest free business accelerator for early stage and growing ventures.
